Low pay brings in people who aren't willing to work, making the job harder on you. Very slow-paced and relaxed. The management is hit or miss. There are about two managers who actually know what to do and the rest are just regular employees with a pay raise. NCG is a good first job, just don't expect too much from it. Was this review helpful? Good place for students, high school or college, looking to hold a job that will accommodate flexible schedules.

Younger individuals can learn and develop basic management and leadership skills but the considerable lack of pay, benefits, and extensive training make it not even worthwhile to pursue. Middle management is often disregarded by Corporate. Would often be asked for feedback but if it was not what they wanted to hear, your opinions were not appreciated.

Lansing Gift - NCG Movies

If feedback was well received, upper management often took credit and dismissed the employee's contribution with no reward, promotion, or compensation. Pay and starting rates for middle management show minimal difference between base employee starting rates. During my years of employment during State mandated minimum wage increases, no attempts were made to reflect these increases to maintain the buffer of floor employees versus management were ever made or even attempted.

Less than a dollar in difference of rates between assistant managers and floor employees. Company would rather resort to the cheapest alternative to fixing or correcting an issue related to maintenance, systems, updates, etc. Fun place to work. When I worked there it was peaceful. Everybody worked along with each other.

Management Worked with us hands on and gave a great understanding of what we had to do as employees. Would not even reccomended to my worst enemy. I work at the one in FL with an a hole manager named adam. We are worked to death by managers if they do not want to do a certain task. There are also bugs everywhere. I was here for 10 months before the a hole was hired and still recieve no type of raise starting from min.

Productive and fun work environment. Terrible Pay and a Terrible Work Environment. There was drama amongst the employees every day, favoritism, and lack of work ethic. No one wanted to work, people would rather stand and gossip or make fun of other employees. As a manager, it was hard to get employees to listen and do their work so usually, the one employee who was doing the job had to do the job of five people. The managers were kind and understanding and proactive, but there were one or two who played favorites with some of the employees which created a small hostile environment amongst the employees.

The pay does not compensate the work you deal with or the stress you go under. Managers start off at a dollar more than minimum wage, regular employees are paid the minimum. There are opportunities for a raise but it is 10 cents every year you work there if you finish your packet.

It is very physically taxing so be ready to lift, push, clean, run, walk, climb and more. Fun Workplace with lots of cool people. The Job was pretty relaxed and I met a lot of cool and interesting people some of which I am still friends with, the management, however, is very hit or miss. I learned a lot about what all goes into running and maintaining a theater.

The hardest part of the job was opening weekends for big blockbusters, but the most enjoyable part of the job was definitely the work family. Best first job ever. Management was spectacular. Most enjoyable part was working with great coworkers. Hardest is how far it was from my home and high school. The culture was always fun and never dull.

I learned to up-sale, and much more. Truly the best job I have ever had. Good Temporary First Job. The management comes straight from the general employees so advancement is most of the time from within. It is highly unorganized and the management often slacks because of the age groups that work there. The hours are a give or take.

Most people will say they work as hard as they can and as much as they can just to receive a stable amount of money to support themselves. Others will say the relaxed environment is ideal since they are still in high school or college. I would not recommend working there unless you just need a quick and easy job with laid back management. It doesn't pay very well for the amount of effort some of the employees put in, but the advancement opportunities are there and look good on a resume.

Work Summary. It really sucked because some mangers wasnt professional and talk about other employees in front of the customers. It was hard working their with me being a cheerleader and they didnt take in to consideration about my practices and games. Poorly managed veey careless of employees. Worked overnight for exactly 8 months at first i loved the job but it got chaotic very quick from inconsistent hours to a boss who does nothing when i reported issues to her such as harrassment by a coworker and then after reporting issue next week my hours get cut and then i gwt terminated.

Great place to work. I started working at ncg on opening day and moved up to supervisor within 3 months.

Good starter job or for someone in high school. Ticket taker was boring. You just stand there and take tickets and direct them to the theater. And once the movies started you were just stuck standing there with nothing to do. Your response will be removed from the review — this cannot be undone.
